There is no emotion free happy dance solution to your situation. One thing another poster on the site has tried is setting firm boundaries. Areas of the house are cleaned out and become clu5ter free zones which the hoarder must respect.

My wife is a hoarder and suffers from depression. She's on meds for her depression and is able to function at a basic level (going to work as a blue collar employee/waitress). I'm looking for other's to help cope and not terminate the marriage.....after 21 years! But, it's getting too difficult to stay in the marriage. She refuses to go for therapy/help. Any ideas? HELP!!!!

Hi :)
This site is for anybody affected by hoarding. A great book for you to read is "Digging Out". Also click on the links at the top of this page to read lots of good information. The more you educate yourself on hoarding the better you will be able to start working your way through.

Is there a site for the Spouse's of hoarders. My wife is a hoarder and I'll retire in a couple of years. Suddenly I realize I will be in the house for 7 days a week and can't handle that. Just a little lost and don't know who to talk to. Hate to get a divorce after 38 years.
