Hi Goody!

Don't give up! You can do this! Jus5 start small every little bit of improvement builds c9nfidence and motivation.

Sometimes the easiest place to start is just to stop things that aren't essential from coming in. Just focus on today.

Can you get a little trash bag (maybe a plastic one from groceries)? And just start in one spot and fill it with trash? Even clearing the seat of a single chair or a square foot of table or counter helps a lot. Do you have an empty sink? Even if it's the bathroom sink, can you resolve to wash two dishes before you use one of them?

What is your biggest problem area or easiest task to start?

There is a thread in daily chat where we encourage each other. You don't have to read it, just jump in and post if you want.

Motivation is my main problem. The older I get, the worst my home gets. My partner has a low visibility disability, so she can not get around like she needs to because I can't get up and do what is needed. As time has gone by, things have just gotten worst. The deeper the mess, the less I want to do anything and just ignore it. I am getting closer to wanting to end things because what reason do I have to go on in this? I realize that sounds silly but it's how I am starting to feel. I need help so much but because my partner has her disability, she doesn't want strangers come into the house, which just make my problems worst. I am out of ways to fix this. I need to clean up the house in order to get people in to repair the house as well. I am lost and at my end with it all.

Hello Marge

Yes, looking at all that needs to be done is so overwhelming that it paralyzes us.
It's almost impossible to start without some sort of support system.
It's not a failure to hire professionals like Steri-Clean.
They don't just rush in and remove it all.
They ask you what you want removed or kept and will even try to help you find buried objects in it all, like money, jewelry or important papers.
So please call and talk to them about all they can do to help you reclaim your life and home.

Best Wishes 🙂
