Mine happily accepts all cloth items.
If something has a rip it doesn't matter, they can always use rag material.

I love the big smiles the staff get when I drop off my donations. 😀

Thanks for mentioning the needs of animal shelters. Contacting our local shelters and rescue organization and finding out if we have anything they might be able to use could be a win/win for both hoarders and the shelters.

Like your situation. Old linens and towels that might not be suitable for donations for sale use by people, may be welcomed by the shelters.

Everybody knows about "Spring Cleaning" even if we don't do it, but what do we call the "Spring Cleaning" we do in the Autumn when getting ready for the long shut in winter days and nights?

This is a good time of year to look around in the space you will be spending most of your time during those long winter nights and finding ways to make it a more pleasant and relaxing place to be.

Even if it is just starting by clearing off one end table or night stand.
Then maybe gather up the papers, clothes and other items on the floor around that end table or night stand.

Simple little changes can help keep you from getting those winter "blues". 🙂

Today I went through all my towels, wash cloths and assorted other linens.
I gathered up a big bag of stuff that I will be taking to the animal shelter. 🙂

Animal shelters need towels and cleaning rags and especially blankets, quilts, bed spreads, comforters and rugs in the winter.

Condiment lids, tops, containers

After using condiments; i.e., ketchup, remove the cap and rinse under hot water, pat dry. Wet a paper-towel with hot water and clean the top of the jar/bottle, removing all excess condiment (remember there is food in the bottle - no soap, use care). Then place back in the fridge.

A good way to get fewer colds this winter....

Once a week wash off all your door knobs and light switches.
Wipe the fridge handle and microwave buttons.
Wipe the telephones and remote controls.
Clean the car steering wheel, door handles and your keys.
These are all things that we touch when our hands are not the cleanest, like when we have just come from grocery shopping where we touched a cart and other questionable things. 😉
