Good morning!

Lila, I am hoping you kept your resolve yesterday!

How did the no spending go?

I am feeling pretty confident about no school tomorrow. I am also pretty confident we are going to lose power, so don't worry if I'm gone a while.

Dd asked if they could come stay with us tonight because it is going to get really cold and we have wood heat. Theirs is only electric. They are less likely to lose power and would get it back sooner, but if they do lose it, it won't be safe for them to drive out here.

We live on the eastern side of the Midwest - the trip would be 9-10 hours of driving. Nearly to the coast. Currently things are not looking good. It's hard for me because I don't want to go, but I know Dh wants to go very badly. He is a wreck.

Lila, I think we are all tired ecause we try to do too many things and we have too much ganging over our heads. I was also anemic. Taking iron has helped with tge physical tires. These days it is more of an emotional tired. I just don't have enough bandwidth.

Ok, I do have school today - warm and raining. Then we will see what comes next.

Good morning.

Today is a travel day so I will be gone for about 4 or 5 hours. Then tomorrow is a long work day, all morning, afternoon and evening. I have a few work things I need to do this morning before I leave.

I am really struggling with energy. I know this is a common thread for many of us and I see it a lot on the hoarding shows. I think it got worse since I had covid last month even though I was not very sick. I just feel fatigued all the time, even if I sleep 10 hours at night. I have had a long standing fatigue issue, but like I said, I feel so much more sluggish now. I've had all the medical tests and bloodwork, got my thyroid meds adjusted, taking vitamins now, etc. and eating mostly healthy.

Any suggestions on how to get some energy? I am leaning top heavily on caffeine so have backed off on that, but wow, I am such a slug. I feel like I could go back to bed right now, and I have no motivation to do anything.

I am sorely tempted to go out and get an egg mcmuffin and a coffee house energy drink, but that would break my no-spend right off the bat... ugh.

Today's declutter goals:
clean the other counter where the air fryer sits, put things back in an orderly fashion.
Find some shoes in my closet and try them on with different insoles until I find a combination that I can walk at least a mile in without it hurting my feet.

Okay. I promise not to go on a mcmuffin run this morning and to just stay home until it is time to go out on my road trip. I have a starbux card from a long time ago, so I can get myself an iced coffee on my trip without actually spending anything.

SubC, keep plugging away at the Christmas decorations. You'll be glad when they are away.

Living in Boston Proper, we have good services. I baked the day of the storm. I'd be good with another weekend storm, truthfully. I like to sleep and read, read and sleep.

I don't know how far you are traveling East and unfortunately, I never remember where everyone lives. I know Tillie was in NV. and that's where my memory starts and stops, I'm afraid.

The ice storm sounds terrible. I hope they close school.

Going to get dressed and make lunch.

Good morning CM, white rabbits!

I hope you do not get a bad storm.

Tatoulia, I heard Boston got two feet two feet! Wow! I'm glad you stayed safe. My parents are tucked in under 12 inches in a town that some years gets no snow to speak of all winter.

I am counting on school being cancelled Thursday. The ice is supposed to start around 6 a.m. 3-5 inches of snow overnight, stopping by 6 a.m. Friday - our trip east may depend on how fast they clear the roads.

Lila, you DID do well. Change takes time! You are doing good things in your house too.

My Dh is home all the time, but that is because his office is still basically closed. He spends 5 days a week upstairs on the computer and yelling into the phone. He comes down for lunch on Bean days. He has taken over cooking dinner since I get home after 6:30 four days a week (and after 5:30 when I take Bean back)

Road, feel better soon!

Welcome back, Lila! I'd count spending less and thinking before buying as a definite win! Road, sorry you are sick again. CM thanks for the drive by. Good job on your good habits list, SubC.

I'm going to try to go to sleep now. See you all tmr!

post 2-

Today has been good so far. Oatmeal and coffee for breakfast, took a walk with my dog. Those are wins.

When I got home from the trip, the kitchen was terrible. So this morning I loaded the dishwasher. Wiped counters.

- I sorted the fridge and threw out any produce going bad, put the kale in the sink to soak, threw out anything old or expired and had my son take the trash out.

- I took everything out of one cabinet that was very disorderly, threw out a couple of bottles of expired stuff, organized, wiped out the cabinet and put things back neatly.

- I pulled the flour and sugar canisters away from the wall, cleaned the counter and wiped off the canisters, cleaned the rest of the counter and put everything back neatly.

-I cleaned up the spice cabinet which I had cleaned and organized a week or two ago but people made a mess. It's better again now.

- I found a couple grapefruits in the fridge that were starting to look less fresh, and I made fresh juice out of them and drank it. I also found half a block of tofu that I need to use, and am looking up recipes so I can use it up today.

- last night I unpacked my suitcase. That's a win, too.

It's unseasonably nice out, in the 50's so I have the windows cracked open to get some fresh air in here. Oh, I also brushed my dog.

I am going to start thinking about February goals. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello friends! I am back after a wonderful trip! Today I am working from home in sweats so I can relax in between working on things plus cleaning the house etc. I feel refreshed and had a great time. And it is sunny today so that makes my mood and energy even better! Now catching up.

SubC, dh is retired so he is here allll dayyy longgg. That's hard, especially since he doesn't help. Well, I take that back. He rarely helps but occasionally, like twice a week, will do one thing like clean the stovetop or unload the dishwasher. I do everything else, he sits. What does yours do? Winter makes me tired, too. Awww, Bean sounds so cute choo chooing around!

omg the school thing is maddening... I'm so sorry!

Road - so your son has covid? Have you already had it? I am vaxed but got it twice. I was kind of thankful I got omicron before my trip. Where I went there is no masking and low cases and no one at all was wearing a mask, except on the plan and in the airport. It was really nice to feel like I could go without a mask for a few days and not be scared to catch it.

Tatoulia, so sorry about your mom. I hope she is ok. I really did not do great with no-spend January, but I did spend LESS on things, thought about them more before I bought them, improved, and wrote down all I spent. I will look it over today and then start a new ledger for Feb, which does look like I can do better with no-spending. I need new shoes but realized I have one or two new pairs boxed in the closet (for years...) and also have a second pair of partly used ones I can try out. I will see which ones I already have work best for me and go with that for now.

hi CM, I hope the storm passes you by!

Will post again in a bit.

Trying to get time and brain cells for a longer post but not having much luck. Maybe later. For now...

Apprehensive and frazzled re another damn winter storm due to hit tomorrow and last 2-3 days at least. Tatoulia with her Nor'Easter probably would say I'm a wimp, heh. But we Kansans are just mainly confused. The irony is that the dumb storm will be mostly on Groundhog Day. If the little beast sees his shadow in Pennsylvania, I'll want to bop him on the head.

More later.

Sil decided to stay home yesterday, so the girls came later for the football game (dd1 came a little early and picked up hay for me, which reduced my stress some.)

Bean and I played. Bean just had his 18 month check up. He is still a baby giant. The doctor said he should know ten words. We think it is more like 100 and he is starting to put them together in little sentences. He asked about my tree, and then he told his mama "tree gone. Barn. Goat eat." When my son was that age he knew "stuck" and "mama." Bean's daddy wasn't speaking at all, so we think he is going to take after his mom and be a chatterbox.

Tatoulia, the thing I added for this week was eat a green vegetable. I have noticed that I am eating mostly winter veggies (it is winter.) and am trying to be sure I have something green every day.

So far my good habits list is:
Yoga 3x a week
Daily reflections
Take Vitamins 2x a day
Put away all the clean, dry laundry before I go to bed
Wash and refrigerate eggs every day
Eat a green vegetable daily

Imbolc will be Thursday, so I will set some bigger goals then. Ironically, imbolc is named for "lambs milk" for the start of lambing season - if I had given the goats their shots on time, I would have been able to celebrate with fresh milk. But now I have to wait an extra week for withdrawal time.

I have Bean today, so my two goals are to run the dishwasher and put away the rest of the Christmas things. (Except his wooden reindeer planter that he is keeping his "feet ball" in.)

I'm sorry about all of your stress, SubC.

I slept all day. Slept and read. Good day.

I need to work on my weight in February. I did a great job not spending, now I need to add to that eating better. I haven't been doing it. So now is the time.

Going back to bed now. Will shower so I feel fresh. It was a beautiful snowy day but I chose sleeping and reading.

February: no gratuitous sugar
No gratuitous spending
Five bags out of house

It's bold. Hard to find five bags but I will.

Anyone want to set any goals for February?

My cat gives me dead mice. - he brought one this morning.

I gave goats shots this morning. Two late, one on time. Since nothing bad has happened it's ok that the two were late.

Yesterday I broke a glass, so that is one item out. It was a cheap quality thrift store glass that I probably paid 25 cents for. Maybe 50. I wasn't particularly attached to it. I cried anyway. ..and now I'm breaking glasses..

Bean is bringing his parents over to play in the snow this afternoon and my younger dd is coming to join them. I still feel very overwhelmed. And I have a headache - which is probably from stress, but it makes me stressed that I could be sick - vicious circle.

My inner squirrel loves these things. Generally I have my cat give me slippers for Christmas. This year, she gave me gloves instead.

I know this is a difficult time for you, SubC, and on so many fronts. I have only rudimentary sing language but sometimes I sign to myself, I am living through a difficult time. It soothes me.

Looks like the snow has ended. It was a very pretty day. Windy but not insane. I baked corn bread and made honey butter and took up to BF. He enjoyed it.

I did two loads of laundry today. Should've done my sheets, but I'll wait. I started laundry after being out in the snow. At one point I fell and the snow was so soft. I couldn't believe it. I just fell into a snowbank and it was lovely. No slipping, just fell forward. I came home and showered.

After midnight, must go to bed. Am running the dishwasher.

Tatoulia, good job! Do you think you buy those things in January because your inner squirrel wants to hibernate?

We are taking the Christmas tree down.

2 months. I think it's a record!

Dh picked up feed for me. I scheduled the goat sitter, got most of the sub plans written, did some dishes and laundry.

Looked at old pictures from Dh family with him for over an hour, and cried.

Progress. Ish.

Honestly, I lot of it felt like a scene from a movie. Only in the movie, the heroine realizes her mistakes and changes her life.

I just drove slowly home in the snow, told my mom I was starting to wonder if the administration was really that bad or if they actually want me to quit and I'm just too dumb to understand, ate some leftovers by the fire, did my chores, and went to sleep.

I did send a note apologizing to the parent. Can you imagine driving a long way in a snowstorm and getting to your child's school and it's locked and dark and you can't reach anyone? My third floor lights were on a side wing of the building, so she wouldn't have been able to see them from the front. Who in their right mind thought that was ok?

I have a lot to do today. Getting feed, cleaning the barn, lesson plans for my sub, lesson plans for me, dishes, laundry, arranging the farm sitter, routine shots for the goats. Dh wants me to take down the Christmas tree. I need more hay but maybe tomorrow. Tomorrow is supposed to get into the 30s. It's 2*F right now.

January is nearly gone and my counter is no better. I'm not sure my house is any better. But I think it is at least not much worse.

We had school.
I enjoyed the bears.
Then we closed early.
I don't have the energy to go into how badly that was handled.
But after somebody who isn't me apologizes to a very nice parent, it would be nice if they also apologized to me. Not that either is likely. Let's just say - last scene - Subclinical is all alone in a dark parking lot scraping ice off her windshield with a cookie cutter in the falling snow. Rewind - turning off the lights and locking up the building, rewind - opening the locked front door and watching the last kid walk to his car, rewind - turning ON the lights as she and the last kid descend through the dark 2nd and 1st floors and realize they are alone in the building, rewind - watching the kid check his phone and realize he has four missed calls from his mom in the last seven minutes.

It went wrong well before that.

I know those stay in bed days, SubC. They very rarely line up with the real world and so we forge ahead.

City's going nuts with impending snow. Hasn't started yet. I will probably lay down soon and watch tv til I fall asleep. Take a nice little nap. I wish I could convince kitty to sleep with me but she's only done that once. I was so sick that I was writhing in pain, many years ago, and she stayed by my side, up by my face, all night and all day. Just sat there like a loaf of bread.

So I'm ready for a nap and some book reading. I'll work a bit more. I'd like to work a lot this weekend but part of the systems will be down. I might be able to work Saturday night.

That's all for now.

I was dreaming about Dh uncle when my alarm went off this morning. Then I remembered it was a school day and I didn't want to get up.

I had some coffee and cried a little. There is snow. It is supposed to keep snowing until early afternoon, but not accumulate too much. Still, there are closings and delays. But not us. We never seem to close.

I am silently begging the admin to close. Please, we need a break. Give us a snow day. I do not want to teach children about bears. I want to stay home and take down my Christmas tree.

Road, I'm so sorry to hear about your bout with covid. And your poor son! So miserable.

I know the thrill of impulse items. And yes, those infomercials are speaking directly to you!

I'm still not buying anything and I'm keeping it that way til mid-February. I want a month with my credit card down.

My friend came for dinner last night and I tested just before she came. Unfortunately, mom had a fall where she banged her head so I was with her until the EMTs came and took her to the hospital. She got home today. Luckily she's okay. But the poor thing. My friend just hung out here til I got home and hen she made me dinner. We had three dinner choices, and she chose the one she could make easily for us. I have three pieces of old plaster mounding for my bookcase, fireplace object and I could get two to be under my bed but needed to remove a tote for the third one. So she took out the tote and unboxed it (has my mother's antique glassware). So now there's room for the last piece of plaster (it's so beautiful). I was glad she waited to eat once I got home.

That's the news. I'm tired but I'm doing laundry. Have one in the dryer, one in the washer, and one hanging to dry.

Road,
I'm so glad for your son. And I think yes - the chances of you getting sick again or making someone else sick in the first few weeks after you recover are effectively nil. Once you test negative - try to go do something fun.

Maybe not recreational shopping. And try to avoid infomercials.

I bought 4 books at the used book store the other day when I went in for a calendar. But I did not buy a calendar because I had waited so long they didn't have any I liked. I will just use the free one from the feed store. Then I will get a 16 month one in August. Some days it feels like august will be in about 5 minutes anyway. (Other days it feels like March 2020 will never be over.) anyway, I had a gift card, so I spent under $9. Three of the books were hardcover.

Still just trying to do the best I can, and looking forward to Saturday, when I can sleep.

Hi guys,

Just checking in to see what's up and give a little update. The H is well and back at school now. I think I got away with a little extra fatigue and a few days of a Stupendous headache. My son did end up t3ting + and he's miserable right now the way you are with a bad cold. Red nose, rosy cheeks, runny nose, and tonight he had a very bad headache. I gave him cold medicine and everything The sinus pain was keeping him awake. But he's sawing logs now. Hope he feels better tomorrow and this is the worst of it.

So it's kind of funny, but I'm wondering if we can act invincible now for a few weeks. Dine out, shop recreationally, go to a concert?! Fly on a plane somewhere?! None of those are that likely actually but next week is a turning point for my son. He's basically been out of all recreational stuff for 2 years. He would have started back with basketball this fall but he got that X-ray of his neck that excluded him from participation. But now next week he will start a virtual cooking class, a virtual karaoke, an in person dance, and soon, bowling. He's basically been out of school for two weeks now so next week he will start back to school and then have activities almost every day after school! Kinda like the old days.

My brother was all set to host the family Sunday but we had to call it off since we both saw him up close and personal on Thursday and John got his result Saturday. Sounds like he is either negative or has very mild symptoms. He was just about to go to lunch at my parents when we got the email so that was lucky. As you can guess my room is in the same state as it has been, and I also had a little flurry of depression induced buying. Bought two new charts, two new pieces of linen, and 3 used textiles books. About $150. Mostly the linen. Have also " taken care " Of some misc other shopping that needed doing or half needed doing but that stuff always adds up. Gulp. I paid $50 for a bottle of vitamins after watching an infomercial because my pain is so bad right now. I am really hoping this does something. I feel disabled at this point. The month of January and I are not on good terms.

Well, group - I am gonna tip toe back through the thread and see what I missed!

Hello everyone!

I hear the weariness in your voice, SubC. I can hear it and I'm worried.

I just tested negative and friend is on her way. I showered and dried my hair and now I'm in some pretty comfortable pjs. Fire is burning and I feel pretty good. Trying to warm up my apt for my friend.

We are having bagel sandwiches with lox, cream cheese, capers, and English cucumbers. Raspberries too.

I am in desperate need of a haircut. Only three haircuts in two years. I think I mentioned that after the last haircut, all the color was gone and my hair feels so good. Not as much grey as I was hoping but pretty big streak in the front. I feel so fancy. Until I remember that I'm in pjs and wearing slippers that don't match.

Shout out to Road!

Yay for computer feet!

Lila, I'm glad you got more trash out. Don't give up! Does your Dh work from home! (Or is he retired? Or?)

That is very cute that Tot was excited about her clothes!

I hope you enjoy your business trip.

And that Tatoulia has fun with her friend.

It is 6 degrees F here. I haven't been out to the barn yet. I stopped at the farm store on my way home to get some things including more heat lamp bulbs. I saw one other mask - around the neck of my cashier. My state set another record for deaths yesterday. They put the traffic deaths up over the highway periodically. Based on last year's average, currently, for every person who dies in a vehicular accident in my state, 51 people die of covid. The state vaccine rate is 56% I feel like everyone around me is speeding down the highway, drunk and short on sleep.

One of my last year students stopped by yesterday. He looked ragged. He is struggling with health issues (unrelated to covid) and with college. Some days I wonder if anything I do makes any difference. And if it's a positive difference.

And then I feed the cat - just so I have one sure thing on my list. He is very glad to have me. It is 6 degrees outside.

Safe travels, dear Lila. And yuck on the toilet seat. Just gross beyond belief.

I'm heading to bed, a bit early. Hoping my acid reflux leaves me alone. It's so painful.

My friend Emiko is coming over for dinner tomorrow night. I have a few choices of things to make for her. I may try to sneak out midday to grocery store. We are expecting big snow and I suppose that half the country is. It's due this weekend, I believe. So hopefully lunch time at grocers won't be too bad. I just have to motivate and actually leave the house.

I woke up this AM and showered right away. It felt really good. I never did dry my hair but that's okay. I did what I could do.

Thanks Tatoulia! I hope you enjoy your tea. I am on prescription meds for GERD right now but they want to wean me off soon. It was causing a lot of issues.

Today I went over to see my sweet little Tot, and she was so excited to see the clothes I brought her and try them on. We had a nice little visit. Then I ran to the bank and went home.

While dh was gone I took one bag of trash out of the family room and consolidated several boxes, and in that room I found a box with a USED, Broken, DIRTY old toilet seat... WHY?? I remember him saying months ago that the toilet seat downstairs had cracked and he was replacing it. WHY would anyone save a cracked toilet seat with pee still on it?? Anyway it is now in the trash, yuck. But the family room is a bit better now. Some of it just needs to have him sort it and get rid of things. It was not as bad as I thought. I guess I did declutter it a month or two ago.

I got the calls and emails all finished up. Paid a bill, cancelled a service. Got my suitcase out of the garage and made a list of things to bring. I need to do laundry at the last minute but some of it is done so I can start packing tonight.

Thanks for looking at my pictures. I bought the fabric for my shower curtain. My cleaners sewed it for me and then they made me covers for some occasional pillows. Pretty nice.

That's great that you got your day back!

I'm going to make myself some tea. I have bad acid reflux (thank you pandemic). My cleaner took care of my house today. Makes me very happy!

Okay off to put the kettle on!

Ooooh, I just found out dh is going to be gone for 2-3 hours this afternoon! I will be going into the dungeon and getting rid of any old food, trash, etc as much as I can in a short period of time. I only get a chance to do this once every 3 to 6 months or so. If I did not do this, his hoard would take over the entire family room. It is about 60% full right now and I will try to get it down to 35%. Wish me luck!

I am so excited about the Instagrams!! Tatoulia, I found yours too and love it! So many pretty inspirations. The bird shower curtain is wonderful. When I get back from my trip I am going to make an Instagram so I can share some pics, although mine will look more like piles of junk than anything. But the afters will be good, and you can see my happy spaces and my furniture.

I had forgotten I had to take my teen to a doctor appointment today that is about a 3 hour round trip. So that would have taken about 5-6 hours out of my day plus prepping to go and coming home to decompress. I remembered last night and was trying to figure out how on earth I would get everything done, since I leave on my trip Weds evening. But the Doctor office called this morning and cancelled. So I got a whole day back!

SubC, I actually got about 90% of the list done. I'll finish up today. I trimmed pup's front paws but not back. And I did not get the dog toys sewn but that was not a priority. A couple of the calls/emails did not get answered so I can try again one more time today.

I have a Zoom meeting tonight also.

My second pair of pants came in the mail so I will try those on today. I probably need to do laundry and start packing.

I admit my house has also gone downhill while I was doing all that writing last week, SubC. We can get caught back up together.

Very quick drive by before heading to quilting

I found computer feet for my laptop! 💻 And I found them at a smaller hardware store not far from where I live, which is nice because I want to support them staying in business. They are not "official" computer feet, merely little stick on rubber circles, but they get the job done. And it took me < a half hour to go and come back. A win all around.

Lila, there is a way to make a satellite Instagram off your main one. I have one for Barbies and I may make others. I don't think anyone can connect it back to your main one. I like before and after clutter/clean pics too but like you am careful about letting just anyone see them.

This week is getting overscheduled and fragmented a bit. I hope I can keep from getting frazzled. Wish me luck.

And Lila, I can't believe you got through your whole list! I did not think it didn't look like much!

I'm glad you guys like my goats. :)
Bean liked them fine, but he mostly seemed astonished by the idea that there were "baby" - word that means small child "goats" - animal that is large. He would say "baby. Dote" and then get this look of wonder. What he was most pleased about was that I trusted him to carry the big "Big!" scoop of feed all the way from the bin and pour it into the mama goat's feed pan all by himself.

I was too tired to come back last night. All the things I didn't do while I was focused on evaluations came crashing down on my brain and I was just too tired. I'm not going to make a list, but things are definitely worse again here. My counter is totally buried.

Okay I have 1/3 left to do on the dining table. I did stop to write out some notes and postcards while clearing the table. I haven't been keeping in touch and it buoyed me. There is a small area for shredding tomorrow. Cannot shred late at night in an apartment.

I'm going to read your posts then go back at it.

They are beautiful! Ooohhhh SubC thank you for the picture of the goats. I know Bean is going to love them. It's like you are the best grandmother in the world. You, too, Lila. Not leaving anyone out here.

Okay I'm going to clean off my dining table now. My cleaners have asked to come a day early.

Thanks SubC, the goats are a happy picture! I will look at ways I might be able to share as well.

I am leaving in a couple days on a business trip. The pants that came yesterday fit, but not ideally. If nothing else arrives in time I will wear these. I ordered 3 pairs of pants and plan to return the ones I don't like. I hope another comes tomorrow so I have a choice, but at least I do have these if I need them.

My son and I cleaned the puppy's ears with ear wash. Then we washed his paws and muzzle with anti itch wash. Then gave him a toy to play with so he was happy. I still need to put the cream in his ears and clip his nails.

I got the whole dogs' yard cleaned up and there is no poo out there anymore! I made some calls and texts. Now I am tired. I will do a couple emails and then maybe sew dog toys.

Hi Lila,

I recently joined an international board based in Australia. It's membership only and you have to explain why you want to join. But when I posted the picture of the goats, I realized that they host their photos through a third party and it looked like you might not have to sign in to see them if I lifted my photo link off the private board. I assume you are going straight to that third party site, which I don't know how to do or what the financial arrangements are for the hosting. The membership board bans a bunch of types of photos - including any photo with any minors in it.

But I just wanted you too see the goats.

Back later.

Probably.

oops, forgot to post..

last night I did update my planner for 2 weeks, made and enjoyed soup and cleaned up the kitchen.

This morning I put a few clean dishes away, had son put the box of notebooks for my office and 2 bags of clothes for Tot in the car, and had him empty my stick vac. Ate cream of rice, am finishing my coffee and trying to get motivated.

On my planner for today is a TON of stuff to get done:
phone calls
emails
edit a photo
finish cleaning up dog waste from the dogs' yard
clean puppy's ears and paws with anti itch stuff
trim puppy's nails
sew dog toys. These are some newer/favorite toys of his that have seams that broke open, and are the ones I deem worth my time to sew them and not toss them.
return an item teen ordered and doesn't want, if it's not too late

okay see, when I type it all out it does not seem like that much, really. It seemed like an impossible amount looking at the planner, but I bet I can do it. If something has to wait, it will be sewing dog toys.

I just finished my coffee and have energy, so will go clean up the dogs' yard now. Then when I come in, will find something to declutter. When I am tired I will sit down and make calls. When I am tired of people, I will do the emails. Oh, I will feed the dogs before I go out, too.

Hope you all have a good, restful and/or productive day!

Aww SubC!! The baby goats... so adorable! How does that link work? Like do you have to make an account and then can share pics on there by a link? Are they public or only who has the link?

And CM, love your IG with all the cute bunnies and cats, and nice to 'see' you too! I have a seldomly-used IG that is only used for church stuff, but it is in my real full name and I am terrified of someone in my real life finding out the state of my house. I would love to share with you guys though, so I think I either need to make a hidden/anonymous new IG or use that link SubC showed the goats on. I have often thought, it would be so impressive to have before and after shots while I am working on decluttering. But I would not save them on my phone because I don't want anyone else seeing them. Yes I have shame about this stuff. Even though I look at my living room right now and I am happy - I see the new furniture, and very nice neat bookshelves and wall shelves and no piles - in all honestly I would NOT want anyone in here as it is. If someone was coming over I would have to do a stash and dash. Everything would fit in a laundry basket though... a few items that don't belong on end tables... actually, it would all fit in a small 1 foot box! Hey it's not as bad as my brain thinks! Plus of course I need to pick up ten million dog toys, lol.

Anyway yes CM you CAN do it. If I can anyone can. We just have to pick a thing and start. It is hard sometimes but this forum does motivate me to keep going so I can share what I did each day. Do something, post it here. We can keep supporting each other on good days and bad. Also, as much as I like to support local and brick and mortar stores, I find they often trigger buying. So I do a lot on Amazon. This may help you. I just searched on Amazon for "laptop foot pads" and a whole bunch of options came up. Take a look, it might save you on the shopping sprees!

Awww, SubC, the goat babies are lovely.

I'm working on my laptop - this is a good thing. I've neglected doing so for months and months. I think the pandemic is mostly to blame because of my roommate needing to work remotely in the same space, with meetings and phone calls taking place.

And in this house, and with the clutter, finding another spot is not easy. However, I'm working on a solution. I had bought a very small portable yet sturdy computer stand last year for $25. And the other day I received a laptop cooling fan thingy I'd ordered. It's so cool, like a gaming type with rainbow LED light around the edge. Artsy me likes colorful things like that! 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣

😁

But my computer is missing a foot. A little black rubber thing that is necessary to keep it from sliding off the cool colorful fan platform, which is rather slick. Computer feet may be harder to find these days - remember when you could probably go to Radio Shack and find something small and obscure like that? But maybe if I can't find the exact ones I can improvise with pieces of rubber and double sided tape.

It's the sort of thing that can send me on a wild goose chase shopping expedition that takes me away from what I really should be doing. Yikes. Trying to resist that urge. You know, the "Well, I could check at Best Buy and Walmart, and while I'm out in that area (since nowadays all the big stores have moved to the burbs) I might as well also stop at X, Y, and Z for various other items that have crossed my mind (and which have nothing to do with computer feet)..." Fun With ADHD, Episode 3,795

Anyway, I'm being good to some extent, working on getting the bunny club social media taken care of with the personnel changes. Facebook sure has gone and added a zillion settings and it's no longer simple just to look at who your admins are in a group and remove someone. But I think one of them left the group anyway, so that's that.

I'm also needing to line up my Master Planning - this is a book/computer project akin, I suppose, to these bullet journals or whatever that are trendy, only more my style (aka nerdy). Dividing my life into big basic areas - Spiritual, Health, Creative, Practical, Community - or whatever names I settle on, those are just ideas - and under each one listing the things I've had going so I can finally keep better track of them all.

And then keeping track of them all, and making progress in each area! Now, I know not everybody is into lists and some would say it's excessive, but I know what I'm like when I try to wing it without the lists. Because as the T-shirt my roommate gave me for Christmas says, "My Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open." ROTFL!

P.S. Lila what I meant to say with regard to Instagram was that if you have one and want to show us your cool new furniture, we'd enjoy seeing it! 😉

Hi all

Just decompressing. Bunny club had board meeting this afternoon, which saw the (expected) resignations of three who had not been happy and there had been an ongoing rift. Now we can move on. These situations are never easy. People perceive things in different ways, and certainly there's nothing wrong with discussing different options yet at some point you need consensus of some kind.

The Covid and people's individual life stresses played a part too, and in some cases had we realized that someone was upset earlier we might've been able to work it out. Everything has been so disrupted. I think it's actually a miracle that we were able to keep going as well as we did and find homes for some bunnies through it all.

Slow, tension releasing sigh...

Congrats on the baby goats, SubC.

Tatoulia, coffee clinks!

Road, feel better soon.

Lila, your posts are making me feel like I can make progress again even though stuff has gotten piled up. We were some of us doing Instagram of areas we'd tidied, and whatever misc. we wanted to share. Mine is BunnyPlanetQueen. I have flower photos on there too, and the bunnies and cats, and a few dolls from my Barbie collection. Even one of me in my improvised Steampunk cosplay garb from pre pandemic days.

Have a great start to the week.

Road, I hope you all get off easy!

Lila, good for you claiming your downtime!

The evaluations are done. I will proofread those last 28 and upload them tomorrow. They are due "by the end of the day" since it is not a work day for us, I guess that means midnight? Anyway, I will do it in the morning before I go get Bean.

Tomorrow I give him baby goats!

oh two babes, nice SubC! We were posting at the same time I think.

I'm glad you are chipping away at those reports. You've got this!!

Road, good to hear from you, but sorry you may have Covid. I hope if you have it, it's mild. Let us know how you're doing.

People want me to come over tonight, but I am so not feeling it, and just want to be alone, so I probably will. I am about to make some soup for dinner.

I also sorted 2 bags of clothes someone gave me for my grandd, who I will call the Tot because I have called her that when she was a baby, and Bean is such a cute name. The board grandbabies can be Bean and Tot. I saved out 2 pants and 2 tops for when she is here if she has an accident or spills on herself, and the rest are going into my car to drop off at her house. I am also having my son put a small box of notebooks in my car to take to my office this week.

I've not done much of anything else, as I am very tired, but the pants came today and I will go try them on after I get the soup made. Then I will work on my planner for the next 2 weeks so I know what is going on before and after my trip.

Two more!

I did the bad grades. (And ate dinner) off to do chores and then finish this off with a couple of good students.

I'll proofread and submit in the morning.
